I got a call today from a friend about an idiotic CNN interview Ryan gave. I asked, as I listened appalled, "Did you tell C.I.?" -- because the friend calling is a mutal friend. She had and C.I.'s comment was: "I just can't deal with this. I've got to dictate a snapshot."
I understand that. I also know C.I. wanted to wade in. So I will.
Tatum O'Neal is Ryan's daughter. He needs to remember that. She is not his lover. She does not owe him blind praise. Her remarks played to him were more than kind and that's before you consider what her life was like. (C.I. knows Tatum and knows her apart from C.I.'s friendship with Farrah. I'm not talking out of school. C.I. noted Farrah at The Common Ills before she died and after she died. Also at The Common Ills, C.I. also took up for Tatum when she was being trashed a few years back.)
For Ryan to imply that Farrah's cancer was the result of Tatum is bulls**t. Tatum and Farrah clashed. I don't know if Tatum's spoken of this or written of this. I'll dish. Ryan is a seductive personality (more so when he had a body -- and that wig he wore on CNN yesterday, yikes!). Tatum and Farrah were at odds because Ryan wanted them to be.
As Tatum went on about getting her own life, she and Farrah had less problems. Prior to that, Tatum was led to believe she was number one in her father's life and always would be. Tatum was as much of a brat then as any young girl becoming a young woman is naturally. But the problem was Ryan had set the two up against each other.
As Tatum built her life away from her father more and more, she and Farrah did not have problems. But had the two been screaming at each other daily, that still wouldn't mean Tatum gave her cancer.
(He might look to Farrah's sauna room which I never found healthy and always felt was substandard and she'd been cheated on.)
Tatum's doing a show with her father -- a reality show -- and my heart goes out for that poor child. Ryan called her a liar and far worse on CNN.
Someone needs to explain to the FAT ASS that even though he's had a face lift, it didn't change the fact that he's the parent. He said hateful and harmful things. About three of his kids.
There was Tatum. There was Griffin.
Ryan, as a doctor, let me put you wise. When you're in the middle of an interview and you want to 'prove' that you're a better person than your son Griffin, you don't go into his arrest record. First, it's not classy. Second, he is a reflection on you. If you're going to ridicule him for multiple arrests, you damn well better realize people at home, watching you on their TVs are thinking, "And that's who he had for a father."
You looked disgusting. You acted disgusting.
You even insulted your son with Farrah though I don't think you meant to.
Let me explain it to you, a father who goes on TV and attacks every one of his children? Americans don't watch that and think, "Poor Ryan, he's had such a hard life." They watch it and think, "That asshole."
You better get your act together real damn quick because Farrah was frequently unhappy when she was involved with you. That wasn't because of Tatum or Griffin or Patrick or anyone else. It was because of you. You know that. People have been very kind out of consideration for Farrah's memory. But if you keep trashing your children and keep playing the victim and, most of all, try to blame Tatum for Farrah's cancer, some of the uglier episodes -- the many ugly episodes -- of your relationship with Farrah may come to light.
I am really surprised C.I. did not open the snapshot today ripping Ryan a new one. I know if there was more coverage of Iraq in the US media, she probably would have.
Ryan needs to get his act together real quick. He's unhappy that his children have talked about how they were given drugs by him. (Tatum refused to comment noting that he would get mad at her if she did.) Tough. It's what happened. Ryan probably shouldn't have pissed off his ex-wives who were usually the ones who were telling the stories when the kids were kids. There is a reason one ex-wife raised their kid with as little participation from Ryan as possible.
I have no idea when C.I. met Tatum. I think it was probably when Ryan was briefly dating Diana Ross (C.I. knows and loves Diana). But there are women who were wronged by their fathers and those women are still "little girls" that C.I. feels protective of. That's why she does not tolerate attacks on Angelina Jolie. If you'll think back you'll remember her ripping Leila Fadel (McClatchy Newspapers) apart when Fadel thought she could attack Angelina. C.I. is not alone. There are a number of women who will not stand for it. These fathers have made their daughters suffer growing up and the women who feel the need to protect those 'girls' (to this day) will not be silent. If Ryan wants to work in TV (I don't see a film career for him), he better stop attacking his children because I can think of five women (one of whom is C.I.) who will quickly shut down Ryan's career.
I know Tatum far better than I do Ryan. I will say she is a sweet and searching spirit. I will further state that she could never harm anyone but herself intentionally. That puts her far ahead of her father.
